Xiami Redmi 7 is a new smartphone introduced by the company on March 18, 2019. It is an Android-based smartphone and is part of its Redmi series.

Display

Despite the Redmi 7’s budget price tag, it features a very impressive display. It features a HD+ (1,520 x 720 pixels) LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display has a good resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio, and punchy colours.

It’s also the first phone in this price range to offer an oleophobic coating on the back. This makes the phone resistant to dust and water.

The Redmi 7’s screen is one of the largest on the market. It’s a full-size IPS LCD display. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio and supports dual VoLTE. The LCD display has a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 441 cd/m2. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on the front.

The device also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The screen is also a touch screen. It has a dedicated microSD card slot. It also has a rear-mounted accelerometer, compass, and palm shutter.

Cameras

Compared to the previous generation, the cameras on Redmi 7 offer improved performance. They also offer better features. While they aren’t the best, they are satisfactory. They’re also more affordable than their predecessors.

The cameras on Redmi 7 offer great image quality in good light. They’re crisp and detailed with plenty of rich color. But in low light, they suffer from a combination of graininess and distortion. While they hold up well, they’re not as sharp as you’d like.

Despite their poor low light performance, the cameras on Redmi 7 offer decent portrait mode shots. Portrait mode works well with acceptable edge detection. They also have a nice bokeh effect.

The images produced by the cameras on Redmi 7 are more vibrant than you’d expect from an entry-level smartphone. The color reproduction is improved, but they still don’t have the saturation that you’d find on a smartphone like the iPhone X.

Battery life

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset, the Redmi 7 can last a long time on a single charge. With a 4,000mAh battery, the Redmi 7 should last about two days with moderate use.

The Redmi 7 runs on the company’s custom MIUI 9 skin. This includes lots of useful features, such as battery management optimizations. It also includes a battery saver feature that can control the amount of power consumed by each app.

The Redmi 7 has a 720p HD+ display with an 8MP front camera and a 12MP main camera. It also has a secondary 2MP depth sensor.

The Redmi 7 has 4,000mAh of battery, which is a big upgrade over the 3,000mAh battery in the Redmi 6. The phone supports 10W fast charging. This means the battery takes two hours to charge from zero to full.

Build quality

During our review of the Xiaomi Redmi 7, we noticed that the plastic back and the glossy front panel were susceptible to smudges and scratches. Fortunately, the phone comes with an oleophobic coating on the back.

The Redmi 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor. The phone also comes with up to 3GB of RAM. The device’s screen measures 6.26 inches diagonally, and has a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Redmi 7 has an IR blaster and a Micro USB port. The battery is packed inside a 4000 mAh unit. There’s also a SIM/microSD card tray. The phone comes with an 18-month warranty.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a good budget device, with decent cameras and a good display. The design is beautiful and it looks good in the hand. The phone isn’t the most powerful device out there, but it has good raw performance and a long battery life.
